FAQs
How to choose the correct size bimini cover/top for my boat?
Firstly, decide which area of the boat you would like covered when you are out on the water; the covers range in length from 5’ to 10’, depending on the type of cover. So you will need to measure your boat to be able to choose the correct size.
To decide where you are going to mount the top to the frame, measure the distance between the mounting point on your boat from port to starboard; this will be the size of the cover that you require.
If you own a sports boat, the mounting points for the Bimini Top are not always clear to identify, so spend some time working out the best mounting position on your boat.
The following details are relevant to the Bimini covers in our range.
- The materials have UV protection so the colour doesn’t fade when exposed to the sun for long periods, and they have a finish designed to prevent moulding.
- The frames are available in Stainless Steel and Aluminium depending on the bimini type. Generally, if possible, you are better off choosing a Bimini top with a stainless steel or aluminium frame.
- The hardware varies between Stainless Steel and Nylon; please refer to information about the specific bimini cover. Stainless steel is the most aesthetically pleasing, but nylon provides better performance.
Check the wind rating in the description and that it is suitable for the speed you travel in your boat.
