Finding the right cover for your vehicle
What information do I need to find the correct Custom-Made sheepskin seat cover?
You need your Rego number and State. With this information, we will be able to order the correct sheepskin seat covers for your vehicle, make and model. We are only catering for Bucket seats with Adjustable Headrests or Bucket seats with Integrated Headrests. If you require seat covers for Captain Style Seats or Bench Seats, please contact us.
Are sheepskin seat covers available for all vehicles, makes and models?
We have options for most cars. Our pattern library is extensive, and we have detailed patterns for most Australian vehicles dating back to 1980.
Understanding fit options
What is the difference between Universal Fit, Pre-Made Packs and Custom-Made sheepskin seat covers?
Universal Fit covers are designed to fit most standard front bucket seats and offer the most affordable starting point. Pre-Made packs are tailored to specific makes and models for a closer fit. Custom-Made covers are made to order for your exact vehicle, delivering the most precise fit.
Will the Universal Fit sheepskin seat covers fit my vehicle properly?
Universal Fit covers have been designed to suit most standard front bucket seats. They are sized to suit as many vehicles as possible, which means they can run larger on some models.
Do the Custom-Made sheepskin seat covers require the vehicle to be brought in for measuring?
No. Our extensive pattern library means we have seat cover measurements and detailed patterns for most Australian vehicles dating back to 1980. This means we don't need access to the vehicle.
Safety
Are sheepskin seat covers safe for vehicles with side airbags?
Yes. All sheepskin seat covers offered by Coverworld are fully side airbag compatible. Through specialised manufacturing techniques and advanced airbag seam technology, the seat covers we offer allow the side seat airbag to fully deploy unhindered by the seat cover in the event of a side impact.
What's in the box
Does the listed price cover both front seats or just one?
The price shown on each product page covers both front seats, driver and passenger, as a pair. Individual seat covers are not sold separately for the front row.
Do the covers include headrest covers?
Yes. Tailor-made and vehicle-specific sheepskin seat cover packs include headrest covers as part of the set.
Are the covers genuine Australian sheepskin or synthetic?
The seating face is genuine Australian sheepskin. The sides and backing are a synthetic faux fur, which keeps the cover structured and the price more accessible than a full sheepskin construction across all three pile options.
Do the covers have storage pockets?
Yes. Every cover includes front and side pockets on the seat face plus a rear map pocket. In-cabin storage is fully maintained once the cover is fitted.
Do the covers come with installation instructions?
Yes. Instructions are included with every cover. Fitting guide videos are also available online for a visual walkthrough before you start.
Are there matching sheepskin accessories available?
Yes. Matching steering wheel covers, seat belt protectors and accessory packs are available (see Accessories range). Enjoy a 50% discount when purchased with any sheepskin seat cover.
Suitability
Are sheepskin seat covers popular and why?
Sheepskin seat covers are popular because they combine comfort, practicality, and durability in a way few synthetic seat materials do. Their appeal comes from several factors:
- Year-round comfort - wool naturally regulates temperature, staying cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
- Soft cushioning - the dense wool pile reduces pressure points and makes long drives more comfortable, especially for people who spend hours behind the wheel.
- Moisture management - wool fibres wick away perspiration and allow airflow, helping reduce sweating and stickiness.
- Seat protection - they shield factory upholstery from UV damage, spills, friction, pet hair, and general wear, helping preserve resale value.
- Durability - high-quality sheepskin is naturally resilient and can last for many years with proper care because the fibres spring back after compression.
- Luxury feel - genuine sheepskin has a premium texture and appearance that many people associate with comfort and high-end vehicles.
- Natural material - some buyers prefer wool over synthetic fabrics because it is biodegradable, renewable, and less likely to trap odours.
Why do sheepskin seat covers keep you cool in summer and warm in winter?
In summer, wool can absorb a significant amount of moisture vapour without feeling wet. It wicks perspiration away from the skin and allows airflow between fibres, helping evaporative cooling and reducing the sticky feeling you get with vinyl or synthetic seats.
In winter, the crimped, partly hollow wool fibres trap millions of tiny pockets of air. Air is a poor conductor of heat, so this layer slows heat loss from your body and feels insulating.
Temperature buffering: wool responds gradually to temperature changes, so the seat surface does not become as instantly hot or cold as leather or synthetic fabrics exposed to sun or winter air.
Are sheepskin seat covers suitable for dusty work environments?
Sheepskin is not the best choice for heavy dust exposure. The wool pile traps fine dust and requires more effort to clean than smooth materials. Canvas or neoprene seat covers are more practical for tradies working in consistently dusty or dirty conditions.
